Las Vegas, October 2007:
The National Funeral Directors' Association held its convention in Las Vegas in October. At the Award's Celebration, Pursuit of Excellence Funeral Homes were honored. In the photo from left to right are Louis J. Stellato, III, funeral director for Hunt-Stellato and Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Homes, Jack Hogan, president of the NFDA, and Louis J. Stellato, Jr, president of Stellato Funeral Homes, Inc. as the Stellatos received the Pursuit of Excellence Award for the 8th year in a row. In addition, this year they were awarded the "Best of the Best" award.
Out of 22, 000 funeral homes nationwide, only 2%received the Pursuit of Excellence Award from the National Funeral Director Associaiton. Out of that 2%, only 8 funeral homes received the prestigious "Best of the Best" Award for 2007. It is with great honor that the Stellato Funeral Homes, Inc which is comprised of Ippolito-Stellato in Lyndhurst and Fairfield and Hunt-Stellato in Fort Lee accepted these awards.
The NFDA's Pursuit of Excellence is the mark of excellence in funeral service, honoring firms for their outstanding service, professional integrity and dynamic public relations programs. In order to receive these awards, the funeral homes must demonstrate accomplishment and excellence in eight categories relating to community relations, staff education, service and compassion. "To have been honored with this award for eight consecutive years is so rewarding. " said Lou Stellato. "So much dedication by the entire staff is necessary in order to make this happen. It is especially a dream come true to be awarded the Best of the Best Award."
