Stellato Funeral Homes, Inc of Lyndhurst, Fairfield, and Fort Lee was selected as one of the finalists for  Annual New Jersey Family Business of the Year Award two years in a row. This award is “the only statewide effort to recognize the significant role played by multi-generational family-owned companies in the economy and society at large.”  The awards were established in 1993 to honor those family businesses whose innovative practices and policies have had a positive impact on both business and community.  Sponsors of the award include: The Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies, PNC Bank, New Jersey Monthly Magazine, Camares Communications, J.H. Stellato Funeral Homes, Inc. received The NFDA's Pursuit of Excellence award 10 years in a row, placing all three of it's funeral homes in the Hall of Excellence at the National Funeral Directors' Headquarters. The award is the mark of excellence in funeral service, honoring firms for their outstanding service, professional integrity and dynamic public relations programs. To have been honored with this award for ten consecutive years is so rewarding." said Lou Stellato. "So much dedication by the entire staff is necessary in order to make this happen. It is especially a dream come true to be awarded the "Best of the Best Award" in  two of these years.  The "Best of the Best" is an outstanding honor in funeral service very few funeral homes nationwide have the honor of receiving"

The Columbian Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1941 business and professional men of Italian decent.  Once a year the foundation honors men and women of outstanding achievement while supporting the works of the foundation by improving the cultural, educational, economical and social welfare of NJ citizens and institutions.  Lou Stellato was the recipient of this Annual Award.
