Anthony Robert Chiodo

Anthony Robert Chiodo, 86, of Fairfield, New Jersey formerly of Elizabeth, NJ passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022. Born to Michael and Antoinette (nee DeMarco) Chiodo in Dunmore, PA. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Elizabeth and Mount Saint Mary's College in Emmitsburg, MD. Mr. Chiodo was a US Army veteran. He served as Treasurer and Tax Collector for the City of Elizabeth and the Elizabeth Board of Education for 25 years while running his own accounting practice. He was a parishioner of St. Genevieve's Church in Elizabeth, St. Catherine of Siena in Seaside Park, and St. Thomas More in Fairfield where he was also an Honorary Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6380. He was a proud, long time supporter of The Salesian Sisters Adopt-A-Sister Program, Covenant House, and his churches where he attended daily masses when able. Beloved husband of Dolores (nee Winkle) Chiodo for 56 years. Loving father of Donna & her husband Tony Polifonte and Lynn & her husband Anthony Barravecchio. Cherished grandfather of Sophia, Joseph, Luciano, Michael, Christian, & Alexa. Some of Mr. Chiodo's favorite times were spent down the shore at his summer home. He enjoyed long days on the beach and bike rides to visit neighbors. He could often be seen outside maintaining his pristine yard or cheering on his beloved Yankees. Funeral Thursday at 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. Funeral Mass Thursday 10AM St. Thomas More Church. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (Totowa).
