On August 23, 2023 , Aurelio,a cherished family member and dear friend to so many, passed away. Aurelio Crispin Riancho Infante was born on December 5 , 1940 in El Cerro, Havana, Cuba to his adoring parents Aurelio Riancho and Elena Infante. After completing his university studies in 1970, during the turmoil of a troubled nation, he was able to relocate to Spain leaving behind his beloved family and country. In Spain , he lived for several years ,teaching secondary education at the Mirasierra Centro de Bachillerato, Madrid. His creative and enthusiastic teaching style led to the establishment of a Film Club which was well received and benefited his students. He continued his preparation in the field of education attending the Complutense University in Madrid.
After several fulfilling years in Spain, in 1974 ,he emigrated to the United States where he immediately enrolled in Montclair University and subsequently graduated with a Masters Degree in Spanish literature and completed his teaching certification requirements. With degree and certification in hand, he was granted a teaching contract with the Newark Public School district where he served as an outstanding bilingual educator for over 25 years until his retirement in 2002. During those years, he performed his duties and responsibilities with exemplary care and commitment to his students and learning community. As an active member of NJTESOL-NJBE, a statewide education association, he took advantage of numerous opportunities for professional growth.
After retiring, he continued teaching others as an adjunct professor at Montclair University for the Spanish department. Teaching and learning were his passion and he was relentless in sharing his wealth of knowledge with others.
When not concentrating on his teaching endeavors, Aurelio loved to travel and his travels took him to many different places around the world, but he specifically relished returning to Spain and Italy visiting family and friends. He lived his life fully, spending time creating a home for himself both in Hoboken, NJ and Miami , Florida.
He is survived by his beloved godson Lorenzo Quattrocchi and family,Filippo, Stella and Diego ,who loved and cared for him with all their hearts. In addition, there are family members in Cuba, Spain, New Jersey and Florida cousins: Nilda Farrucha Infante Riancho, Josefina Garrucha Infante Riancho, nieces: Marta Fernandez Riancho, Margarita Ramos Riancho , grandniece: Maria Cristina Fernandez Riancho, grandnephew: Nelson Fernandez Riancho, along with many cherished , lifelong friends who will not forget him and will truly miss his companionship.
In his memory, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Funeral arrangements will take place on Friday, September 1st . Visitation hours will be from 10am-12pm with a chapel service taking place at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington, New Jersey to follow.
