Ilda Joanaz Frazão, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 31, 2022, in Palm Coast. Born on August 3, 1932 in Aldeia da Ribeira, Alcanede, Santarém, (Ribatejo) Portugal. Married Alberto Carvalho Frazão in the Church of Alcanede on October 30, 1948. Had a restaurant/coffee business (Café Frazão) and repair and sale of motorcycles and bicycles for many years. At that time, Alcanede still without electricity, but with the purchase of a generator it was in Café Frazão that a great novelty was introduced, the television. It would be the place where soccer matches-national and international, bullfighting and the great events in Portugal's political history and events were presented to Alcanede’s and surrounding areas’ population. In 1965 the couple with their two daughters immigrated to the United States to Harrison, NJ. The couple later lived in Lake Hiawatha, NJ until Alberto's death on May 7, 2006. Already retired, Ilda lived between Parsippany, NJ and Palm Coast, FL, with her daughters and sons-in-law. Ilda was a seamstress and began her work in the United States at the Cooper company in Newark, NJ. Then she worked in several factories taking friends and family to stable work of that time thus helping many families newly arrived in this welcoming nation. Ilda was an amazing businesswoman, seamstress, cook, selfless daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend of everyone she met, leaving a legacy of humility, love of neighbor, kindness, strength, faith and courage. Ilda was a member of the ILGWU union. She was a member #840 of the Portuguese American Cultural Center (PACC) of Palm Coast, was a founding member of the Rosary Society of Palm Coast, was an attendant of the Convivio dos Lavores at PACC and was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Palm Coast. She is survived by her daughters; Maria Elizabeth Frazão Pereira of Palm Coast, FL and Fernanda Frazão Amaral of Parsippany, NJ; sons-in-law Esmeraldino V. Pereira and Manuel Victor Amaral, grandchildren; Dino Frazão Pereira and wife Michele of Sparta, NJ, Michael Frazão Amaral and wife Jessica of Nutley, NJ, Neil Frazão Amaral and wife Inna of Union City, NJ, Paul Frazão Pereira and wife Jillian of Roseland, NJ and Jennifer Frazão Amaral and fiancée Jason Szymanski of Oakridge NJ, great-grandchildren; Mikayla Joan Pereira, Samuel Alberto Pereira, Matthew John Pereira, Charlotte Sofia Amaral, Katie Rose Amaral and Thomas Dean Pereira. This beautiful matriarch will always be the beacon of light in this world for the whole family. Casou com Alberto Carvalho Frazão na Igreja de Alcanede em Outubro 30, 1948, tendo negócio de café (Café Frazão) e de reparação e venda de motorizadas e bicicletas por muitos anos. Nessa altura, Alcanede ainda sem electricidade, mas com a compra de um generador foi no Café Frazão que se introduziu uma grande novidade, a Televisão. Seria o local onde os jogos de futebol, as touradas e os grandes eventos da vida de Portugal foi apresentado à freguesia de Alcanede e arredores. Em 1965 o casal com as duas filhas imigraram para os Estados Unidos para Harrison, NJ. Mais tarde o casal viveu em Lake Hiawatha, NJ até ao falecimento de Alberto em Maio 7 de 2006. Já reformada, Ilda viveu entre Parsippany, NJ e Palm Coast, FL com as suas filhas e genros. Ilda foi costureira e iniciou o seu trabalho nos Estados Unidos na fábrica Cooper em Newark, NJ. Depois trabalhou em várias fábricas levando para muitas delas, amigas e familiares para trabalhos estáveis dessa época ajudando assim muitas famílias recém chegadas a esta Nação acolhedora. Ilda era uma mulher de negócios incrível, costureira, cozinheira, altruísta, boa irmã, tia, esposa, mãe, sogra, avó, bisavó e amiga de todos que ela conheceu deixando assim um legado de humildade, amor ao próximo, bondade, força, fé e coragem. Ilda foi membro da união ILGWU. Foi sócia #840 do Portuguese American Cultural Center (PACC) de Palm Coast, foi membro fundadora da Rosary Society de Palm Coast, foi uma atendente do Convívio dos Lavores no PACC e era paroquiana da Igreja de Santa Elizabeth Ann Seton em Palm Coast.
