Rubby Salazar Sanin, a loving and determined mother and grandmother, peacefully passed away on June 28, 2023, one day after celebrating her 86th birthday. Born on June 27, 1937, in Pereira, Colombia, Rubby was a woman of great strength and determination, whose life was a testament to the power of perseverance and the pursuit of dreams. Rubby was a woman of many accomplishments, but her greatest pride was her family. She was a cherished mother to Nelson Sanint & his wife Nubia, Jorge Sanint & his wife Kristie, and Liliana Sanin & her husband Steve. She adored her grandchildren Claudia Sanint (Daniel), Monica Sanint, Sebastian Tovar (Gineth), Mackenzie Bartz (Andrew), Logan Sanint, and Cheryl Small-Sanin. Her loving spirit lives on through her great-grandchildren, Mariana Alejandra Guio Sanint, Juan Jose Guio Sanint, Luciana Tovar, Isabella Tovar and Sara Tovar. Nohemi Salazar Quintero is her beloved surviving sister. Her family meant the world to her, and she held a special place in their hearts. Rubby Salazar Sanin held a special place in the hearts of many, including Aguedita Gonzalez, who became a beloved daughter in heart. Rubby's journey was marked by many accomplishments. While she pursued graduate and postgraduate studies, at Universidad Innca de Colombia and Fairleigh Dickinson University, she found fulfillment as an attorney in Colombia. She possessed a sharp intellect that shone through her conversations and actions. Rubby deeply believed in the transformative power of education and using knowledge to create positive change. Rubby made the brave decision to move to the United States, where she became a proud American citizen. Her love for her adopted country was evident in her active involvement in various political activities supporting Colombian Americans in New Jersey. She also passionately championed causes aligned with her Pro America political causes, using her voice and her actions to advocate for the values she held dear. Beyond her professional and political endeavors, Rubby had a wide range of passions that fueled her spirit. She poured her heart into everything she pursued, whether it was her family, her work, or her community. Her unwavering dedication, love, and commitment left an indelible mark on those around her. Rubby Salazar Sanin was more than a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She embodied strength, intellect, and passion. Her life was a testament to perseverance, the value of education, and the beauty of love. She lived purposefully, passionately, and lovingly. Her legacy will forever inspire and remind us of the power of love, the significance of passion, and the beauty of life. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 6th from 6pm - 7:30pm with service to follow at the Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Avenue, Fort Lee. Cremation will be private.
