America Pilar Guedes, a cherished matriarch and devoted member of the community, passed away on September 4, 2026, in North Arlington, New Jersey. Born on October 12, 1938, in Lima, Peru to Clemente Orejuela and Juana Bolivar, America lived a life full of love, faith, and service to others.
America was a long-time member of La Gran Comision Church in Paterson, where she not only worshipped but also served as a missionary, sharing her compassion and unwavering spirit with the people of Peru. Her kindness and dedication to her church community and family were evident in her every action.
America is predeceased by her loving husband, Reynaldo Guedes. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Maria Enrico, and son, Reynaldo Guedes. She was a doting grandmother to her grandchildren: Aaron, Michael, the late Christian, Rey, Juan, Sylvia, Kody, Micaela, and Gabriel, and a proud great-grandmother to Raylyn, Andraya, Lillian, Joseph, Kailey, Leila, Christian, Milano, Enzo, Akari Kihomy, Isabel, and Elias. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she poured her heart and soul into nurturing and supporting them.
Visitation will be held at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-9 PM. Cremation private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
