It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Angela "Angie" Burns, beloved daughter, sister, and devoted educator, who departed this life on March 18, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on July 22, 1937, in Englewood, New Jersey, Angela was a dedicated member of her community and a cherished influence in the field of education.
Angela earned her Bachelor's Degree and devoted a significant portion of her life to teaching in the Jersey City Public Schools, where she inspired countless students with her passion for learning and unwavering commitment to their success. Her extensive career was marked by her genuine care for her students and her innovative approach to education. In addition to her contributions in the classroom, Angela served as a former member of the Palisades Park Board of Education, where her insights and dedication to the welfare of local children significantly impacted the educational landscape of her community.
Angela's legacy extends beyond her professional achievements. She was a former Filippini nun, devoted to her faith and the service of others. Angela's spirit of compassion, kindness, and commitment to making a difference in the lives of those around her will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Theresa Morin, and son-in-law, Nick Morin; her beloved brother, George Fasciano, and his wife, Gloria; her cherished sister, Mary Ann Hagopian, and her husband, Robert; as well as her adored nephews, George and Gregory Fasciano; nieces, Renee Arp and Lisa Hagopian; grand-nephews, Christopher Lucas and Tyler Arp; as well as her life long friends, Fran and Anna Mae.
Angela was preceded in death by her husband John J. Burns; her brother, John Fasciano & his wife Mary Joan; and her sister, Lucille Fasciano.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23rd, 2026 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM in Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home, Fort Lee. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 24th, 2026 at 10:00 AM in St. Nicholas Church, Palisades Park NJ. Burial, to follow, Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
Angela will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who carry her memory in their hearts.
