Angela "Angie" Gualtieri, a beacon of light and laughter, was called home on September 14, 2025. Born on April 14, 1927, in Jersey City, NJ, Angie's vibrant spirit graced this world for 98 joy-filled years. She departed peacefully in Fort Lauderdale, FL, leaving behind a legacy of love, humor, and devout faith. Angie was the heart and soul of her family, the beloved wife of the late Mario Gualtieri, a cherished mother to Janet and Doreen Gualtieri, and a beloved mother-in-law to Nicholas LaForgia. She was a treasured sister to Elvira (Rita) Waldron and is now joyfully reunited with her siblings Calogera (Lucy) Aquila, Amardo (Marty) Romano, and Giuseppe (Joe) Romano in the Lord's embrace. Armed with a high school diploma and a can-do attitude, Angie's hands were rarely still, as she weaved her magic as a seamstress. Her skills were only outshone by her wit, which she stitched into every garment and conversation. Recognizing her tireless service, the mayor honored her with the Senior Volunteer Award, a testament to her dedication to her community and her flair for making service feel like a celebration. Angie's faith was as strong as her sense of humor. Her Christian beliefs were the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's ups and downs with a smile and a prayer. She often joked that her direct line to the Lord was the real reason her bingo cards were so often blessed with wins.Angie's love for travel took her to places far and wide, but she was equally content with the simple pleasure of a game of bingo with friends or the excitement of a lucky streak at the casinos. She bowled with the gusto of someone who knew that whether you strike or gutter, it's how you roll that counts. Her laughter echoed through the bingo halls and bowling alleys, a sound that her friends will dearly miss.
In Fort Lauderdale, FL, Angie spent her final years, where the sunsets were a daily reminder of life's fleeting beauty. Her sense of humor never waned, and she could often be found cracking jokes, reminding us all that life is not to be taken too seriously. She was a woman who lived fully, loved deeply, and laughed heartily. Angie's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit remains a guiding light. She has taken her final journey, one that we all will embark on one day, with the grace and joy that characterized her time on earth. In the words of Scripture, she fought the good fight, she finished the race, she kept the faith. As we bid farewell to Angela Gualtieri, let us honor her memory by embracing life with the same zest and humor she displayed. Let her laughter continue to resonate in our hearts, reminding us that every day is a gift to be unwrapped with a smile. Angie's story may have reached its conclusion in this world, but in the hearts of those she touched, her narrative continues, punctuated by the joy and laughter she so generously shared.
