With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Ann Garda, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, who left this world on July 4, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on September 12, 1939, in Hoboken, New Jersey, Ann lived a life characterized by her unwavering compassion, dedication to family, and commitment to her career.
For many years, Ann served as a bookkeeper at Stack & Stack, contributing her talents and diligence to the insurance industry. Aside from her professional achievements, she found her greatest joy in her family, who will cherish her memory forever. Ann is survived by her devoted daughter, Joan Victory; her cherished brother, William Griffo, and his wife, Edna; grandchildren Noel and her husband Chris Kloboves, and Shawna Claffey; as well as great-grandchildren Naomi Mae and Daisy Leigh. She was also adored by many nieces and nephews, who will remember her kindness and warmth.
Ann was preceded in death by her late husband, Edward Garda; her siblings, Anthony and his wife Diana Griffo, Frank and his wife Joan Griffo, Vincent and his wife Jean Griffo, Angelina and her husband Peter Lisa, Joseph Griffo, Marie and her husband Nicholas Yaneiro; as well as her brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law Victoria & her husband Peter Cardinali, Dorothy & her husband Peter Nisler, Winifred & her husband Thomas Misciagina.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11th, 2025 from 9:00am-10:45am in Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, Lyndhurst. Mass will be celebrated at Queen of Peace R.C. Church at 11:00 AM. Interment, Hillside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Helping AMC Families, in honor of Ann's generous spirit and dedication to helping others.
As we mourn the loss of a remarkable woman, we reflect on the many lives she touched and the love she gave so freely. Ann will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
