Ann Theresa O'Rourke

O'Rourke, Ann Theresa (nee Crehan), 91, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Ann was born and raised in Boston, MA. She graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1950 and worked at Travelers Insurance and Boston Lying In Hospital while living in her beloved hometown. In 1961, she and her husband, Joe, moved to Fairfield, NJ, where they raised their family. While in Fairfield, Ann served in various volunteer capacities at St. Thomas More Church and School and later worked at Skyline Auto Auction. 

A devoted wife and mother, Ann stayed closely connected to her family and found great joy and much laughter while spending time with her mother and four sisters and their families back in Boston. She and Joe maintained close relationships with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ann was the cherished mother of Joann Wojciechowicz and her late husband John of Mashpee, MA, Tim O’Rourke and his wife Cathy, of Milford, NJ, and Kathryn Buonacquista and her husband Michael of Middletown, NJ. She was the grandmother of Caroline “Charlie” Wojciechowicz, Colleen Starke, Joe and Dan O’Rourke, and Julia and Patrick Buonacquista, and the great-grandmother of Remy and Otto Starke. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her parents Francis and Theresa Crehan, and her sisters Carolyn Sacco, Evelyn Lowe, and Katherine Crehan.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 9, from 4 – 8pm at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd., Fairfield, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be said on February 10, at 11am at St. Thomas More Church in Fairfield, NJ. Burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at a later date.
