It is with deep sadness and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Annette M. DiMascio, who passed away on October 22, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born on June 13, 1942, in Newark, New Jersey, to Charles and Marie Apap, who lovingly raised her alongside her siblings Peter Apap, Diana Robie, and the late David Apap.
A lifelong resident of Lyndhurst, Annette spent her life bringing joy and support to those around her, especially through her dedicated work for the Lyndhurst Board of Education as a Lunch Aide and Secretary. Her unwavering commitment to the children in the community was evident in her warm smile and kind heart. She truly loved being surrounded by the vibrant energy of the students at school, just as she cherished every moment spent with her own family. As a mother, she was heavily involved in her children's lives as they were growing up, always present for every milestone, activity, and moment of need. Beyond her family and career, Annette was incredibly blessed with lifelong friendships that she held close to her heart throughout her entire journey; these deep, enduring bonds were a constant source of happiness and comfort to her.
She was the beloved wife of the late August "Augie" DiMascio. She was the loving mother of Thomas, Audra, and Sandra, who invite you to join them in celebrating their mother's life. Annette was also the cherished grandmother of 6 and great-grandmother of 3, who brought immense happiness to her life.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church. She will be interred alongside her beloved husband at Hillside Cemetery.
Annette's warmth, kindness, and dedication will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Let us come together to honor her remarkable life and the love she so freely gave.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, honoring Annette's lifelong commitment to caring for others.
