It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Antonio Silva, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on November 4, 2026, at the age of 67. Antonio was born on June 15, 1959, in Murtosa, Portugal, immigrated to the Ironbound section of Newark in 1974, and later built his home in North Arlington, New Jersey.

Antonio dedicated many years of his life to working as a fillet cutter at the Fulton Fish Market in New York, where he brought his love and passion for seafood to life. An industrious man, he was known for his impeccable work ethic and unwavering commitment to his craft. Outside of work, Antonio found joy in fishing, carpentry, sports, and cooking, where he often delighted family and friends with his culinary skills. His warmth and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Antonio is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Belmira Silva; their two sons, Daniel & his wife Michele, and David & his fiancée Ally Tierney; and his grandchildren, Angelina and Jonathan. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters Lurdes, Manuel, João, Gloria, Carma, Luisa, and José, along with many brothers-in-law, sisters-in law, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were fortunate to be touched by his kindness and spirit. He was predeceased by sisters Belmira & Ernestina.

Friends & family will be received on Monday, November 9th from 4-8 PM at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 10th beginning at 8:30AM at the Funeral Home with the Funeral mass at 9:30 AM at St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, 65 Barbara Street, Newark. Private cremation to follow.

As we remember Antonio Silva, let us carry forward his love for life, family, and the small joys that truly matter. His legacy of love and laughter will forever remain in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the David's Dream & Believe Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
