Christopher Papas

Christopher Louis Papas, born in Cyprus, on June 25th, 1946. Migrated to the United States in 1953, settling in Yonkers. Chris would proudly serve his country beginning in 1966, while stationed in Germany.

After graduating college, he would begin his career at Yonkers Raceway, then hired as Director of Admissions at the Meadowlands Racetrack, where he would meet the love of his life, Lulu, and many lifelong friends.

Some of his happiest times were flying to Vegas to be with his brother and his family, attending weddings and having Peter show him the town. Christmas Eve was a special time for Chris, as he enjoyed cooking and decorating for the family. He enjoyed his many years at the condo where he created the most beautiful tropical garden, played cards, and watched the races with our dear friends. Chris loved his trips to the Borgata, Europe, and sailing on the MSC.

In later years, he would be employed at Yankee Stadium, which he enjoyed. On Friday & Saturdays, you could find him betting the horses and having fun with his friends at the New Meadowlands.

Chris is survived by Lucy Curcio, brothers Peter (Rita) and Nick, sister Adrian, sister-in-law Mary, Carmela, Al, Charlene and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Eleni and Loizos, siblings Emile, Gus, Niki and in-laws John, Leonidas, Jeanette and LaVerne, who held a very special place in his heart.

Friends & family will be received Friday 11AM - 2PM, with an interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Chris will be deeply missed by his family, many friends, and especially his LuLu.
