Daniel "Al" Cerullo

November 26, 1929 — July 8, 2025

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Albert Cerullo, affectionately known as "Al," who left us on July 8, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on November 26, 1929, in Harrison, New Jersey, Al was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A proud graduate of Harrison High School and a dedicated veteran, Al served in the Navy for four years. On November 22, 1952, he married the love of his life, Mary Martin, and together they raised three daughters: Donna Tague, Susan Macrina, and Marylou Bandy. Al cherished his family deeply, a truth evident in the bonds he created with his grandchildren, Christopher Macrina, Jaime Macrina, Daniel Tague, David Tague, Isabella Bandy, and his great-grandchildren, Angelina Marie Macrina, Rylee Tague, Connor Tague, Adrianna Rose Macrina, Gianna Marie Macrina, Brooke Tague, and Quinn Tague. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Al enjoyed a fulfilling career that began as a tool and dye machinist, later taking college certificate courses to ascend to the role of manager at RCA, where he dedicated 25 years before the company's closure. Al's innovative spirit shone brightly during his time as a consultant at GE, where he contributed to the Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator for the Voyager I and II satellites in 1977, a testament to his expertise that continues to make an impact in space exploration today. In recognition of his remarkable efforts, Al received a citation from the Department of Energy and Research Development Administration on September 30, 1977.

An avid sports enthusiast, Al loved soccer, baseball, and golf. He could often be found walking the beautiful shores of Seaside Heights, where he was known as "The Mayor of the Boardwalk", or Ortley Beach, where he moved in 1985, living out his golden years surrounded by the tranquility of nature.

Friends & family will be recieved Friday 3-7 PM. Funeral Saturday 10 AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Service 11 AM at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, with an entombment to follow.

Rest in peace, Al. You will be deeply missed but always remembered.
