It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David William Thorpe Sr., who left us on January 16, 2026. Born on January 22nd, 1953, in Jersey City, New Jersey to Raymond & Mary (nee Malta) Thorpe, David lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and a profound love for his family.

David spent many fulfilling years working for Jamesway Corporation Headquarters in Secaucus, NJ, where he became known for his strong work ethic and the lasting friendships he forged along the way. He was also the proud owner of Dave's Stationery on Washington Street in Hoboken, which he ran for many years, and where he was a familiar and friendly presence in the community. He embraced life with a gentle spirit and an infectious smile, bringing joy to everyone around him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lesley Thorpe, and their cherished son, David William Thorpe Jr. David is also remembered fondly by his brother, James Thorpe, and is predeceased by his siblings, Raymond Thorpe, Gloria Jean Thorpe, and Doreen Cann, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories that reflect the love and support David offered to his family and friends.

In celebration of David's life, friends & family will be received Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Funeral service Thursday 10 AM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in David's honor to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, Tunnel to Towers, or to the ASPCA.

David's legacy of love and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the many lives he touched.
