Flo graduated Montclair State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1974. She began her career as a Public Accountant at Ernst & Young, and then with Prudential. Flo spent over the next 30 years as the CFO for Dr. Charles P. Melone, a renowned hand surgeon in Manhattan up until the time of her death. For many years, she was simultaneously employed as the CFO and US representative for Bernard Zins, a French clothing manufacturer, and as the Financial Officer at San Carlo Restaurant, their family business in Lyndhurst, NJ.

When Flo wasn’t working, you could find her at the Glen Ridge Country Club playing golf, her favorite hobby. She was an active member of the G.R. Country Club for 47 years, serving as Treasurer of their Woman’s Golf group for several years. She was honored this year by the women golfers with the naming of an annual tournament after her now known as the “Flo Melone Trustee Cup” tournament. She also served as Treasurer for the Fairway Association of Upper Montclair for many years.

Flo loved vacationing with her husband, spending time with her family, especially her grandson, and with the numerous friends she had, mostly in New Jersey and Florida. She will be missed by many.
