Frances Massa

Frances Massa, aged 78, passed away on the 26th of July, 2023 in the comfort of her home in Jersey City beside her beloved husband, Reynaldo Massa Sr., and her best friend and mother-in-law Eudosia Massa.

Frances was born in El Progresso, Honduras to Candida and Tomas Rodriguez on the 4th of June, 1945. She was the youngest of 13 siblings. When she was only 20 years old, she immigrated to the United States to start a new life. It was during her time in night school that she met her future husband, Reynaldo Massa Sr. They married on the 23rd of March 1974.

During her life, Frances worked at the Anthony House women’s shelter in Jersey City. In her later years, she spent her time caring for her children and later her grandchildren.

Frances loved to dance, and was the life of every party. She will be remembered for her vibrant personality and her infectious joy. She lived life unapologetically and was never afraid to stand for what she believed in. Her heart knew no bounds and she loved the world around her with all that she had.

Above all, Frances was known for her selflessness. She dedicated her life to the care of her family and others. She went out of her way constantly to help those in any way that they needed. Whether it was providing a place to stay, or simply cooking a hot meal, Frances was always there.

Frances will continue to live on through her three sons, Reynaldo Jr and his wife Leocadia., Marco and his wife Donika, and Roberto and his wife Melissa as well as her six grandchildren: Alyssa, Jessica, Ava, Gabriella, Jason, and Isabella.

A funeral service will be held at

St. Aloysius Church 691 West Side Ave, Jersey City, NJ on August 3rd, 2023 at 10 AM followed by a small gathering at the home of her son, Reynaldo Jr. at 147 Williams Avenue, Jersey City, NJ.

The family will receive friends on August 2nd, 2023 from 4-8 PM at the Caiola-Stellato Funeral Home 691 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund or The Act Now Foundation.
