Pfeifer, August Frederick "Fred", 79, of Montville, NJ on Thursday, February 21, 2013. Beloved husband of Anna (nee Puccio). Loving father of AnnMarie & husband John Obiedzinski, Rev. Frederick August Pfeifer, Diana Scimeca, Joann & husband Edwin Daniel Kennedy, and Paul Anthony Pfeifer. Cherished grandfather of Jessica Rose, Janine Ann, & John Frederick Obiedzinski, Jennifer Ann, Kimberly Rose & husband Andre, Andrew Michael, Ralph Sheridan & Krysta Rose Scimeca, Christopher Daniel Kennedy, Madeline Marie & Julia Grace Pfeifer. Adored great-grandfather of Ana Paloma. Dear brother-in-law of Joseph & his wife Mariann Puccio, Mary DiCristofalo, and Frances Houlis. As a young man, Fred was in the swim club, the German Glee Club and sang on the German radio. Mr. Pfeifer served in the US Army from 1954-1962. He was a draftsman for Bell Labs in Whippany for 33 years before retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Boonton and St. Thomas More Church. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels and visited both shut-ins and veterans at the VA hospital. Funeral Mass Monday 10AM at St. Thomas More R.C. Church. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Friends will be received Sunday 2-6 PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd., Fairfield, NJ. Donations may be made to the St. Joseph School, 115 Telford St., East Orange, NJ 07018
