It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gabrielle L. Gerke, who departed this life peacefully on May 14, 2026. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on June 25, 1940, Gabrielle led a life filled with love, creativity, and cherished memories.
A woman of many interests, Gabrielle found joy in skiing, where she met her husband, forging a bond that lasted a lifetime. She also enjoyed bowling, playing pool and cards, and visiting Atlantic City. Gabrielle had a passion for bargains, frequently indulging in garage sales-both as a buyer and a seller-and relished the thrill of finding a good deal. In addition to her hobbies, she expressed her creativity through poetry and was honored with a National Poet Award for her exceptional writing.
Gabrielle was preceded in death by her husband, John Gerke; daughter, Ann Marie Dreher; and her sister, Jeanette Anderson.
She is survived by her beloved son, Kurt Gerke & his wife Nicol, along with her daughter, Rita Gerke-McMann. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: John Frank Gerke, Chase Gabriel Gerke, William John "Billy" McMann, Lance John Dreher, and Brandon Timpanero, as well as her great-grandchildren, Lance George Dreher and Madelyn Rose Timpanero.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, Lyndhurst NJ on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
Gabrielle's spirit and enthusiasm for life touched all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
