Gail Meytrott was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was defined by her deep love for family. From cheering in the stands at her children’s sporting events to playing in the backyard with her young grandchildren, Gail never missed a moment. Her dedication continued into the next generation, where she remained deeply involved in the lives of her great-grandchildren.
Gail was a selfless, compassionate individual who always put others’ interests ahead of her own. She took a genuine interest in everyone around her and had a gift for making each person feel truly important. Known for her warm sense of humor, Gail could always be found laughing and smiling, lighting up every room she entered.
In her spare time, Gail was an avid tennis player, golfer, and gardener. She was still wining tennis matches well into her mid 70’s. She loved working in her yard and continued maintaining it well into the age of 80, a testament to her tireless spirit and love for staying active.
Loving mother of Allan & his wife Cheryl Meytrott, Terri Meytrott, Donald & his wife Barbara Meytrott, and Dale & her wife Christine Relyea. Cherished grandmother of Melissa & her husband Trevor Major, Taylor & his wife Christina Meytrott, Amanda & her husband Daniel Filipe, Hunter & his husband Timothy Fagan, Parker & his wife Whitney Meytrott, Sara & her husband Diego Benitez, and Connor Meytrott. Adored great-grandmother of Tristan, Aileena, Gavin, Grayson, Hudson, Colton, Peyton, Rylie, Giuliana, Teagan, Dominic, Jacob, Shea, Francisco, and Freddy. Loving Aunt of Cindy Orr Farnham. Beloved daughter of the late Harry & Aileen Orr. Dear sister of the late Harry Orr, Jr.
A faithful servant of God, Gail was an active member of Jacksonville Chapel and their ministry as well as the Ron Hutchcraft ministry. She worked diligently each week preparing the music for services and brought that same gift of music to residents of the Lincoln Park nursing homes.
Visitation Thursday 10AM-12PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd., Fairfield. Funeral Service 12PM at the funeral home with a private cremation to follow.
Gail touched and positively impacted countless lives. Her legacy of love, laughter, faith, and selflessness she leaves behind is one we will all hold close forever.
