George A Pierce

Pierce, George A., 93, of Fairfield, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Noreen (nee Myers) Pierce. Loving father of Gail Plumstead & her husband Glenn, Alan Pierce & his wife Leslie, and Eric Pierce & his wife Donna. Cherished grandfather of Tracy, Kelly, Jill, Kate, Scott, Alissa, Sarah, Nicole, Timothy, Taylor, Kevin, and Abbey. Adored great-grandfather of Bailey, Owen, Cooper, Kylie, Henry, Giuliana, George, Joseph, Norah, Madison, Jaxon, Jack, Olivia, Ben, Tyler, Mackenzie, Hayden, Vincent, Duke, Harrison, Cameron, Grace, William, Ryan, Matthew, and Griffin. George graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in 1949. Mr. Pierce was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War from 1953-1959. He was very active in his children's lives coaching Little League and as a Scout Leader. He ran the youth group in the Fairfield Reformed Church and was an active parishioner in the Caldwell United Methodist Church. He was the Owner/Operator of Town House Liquors in Montclair. George was the proud Chairman of Hillside Cemetery in Fairfield for over 30 years. He was well-read and loved to learn and share his vast knowledge with others. Funeral Service Tuesday 10AM Caldwell United Methodist Church. Interment Hillside Cemetery. Friends will be received Monday 2-4 & 6-9PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hillside Cemetery, Inc., 70 Horseneck Rd., Fairfield, NJ07004.
