George Meyer

GEORGE G. MEYER, age 88 of Cliffside Park, New Jersey, beloved husband of Sandra Meyer, passed away on April 12, 2024 at home with his wife by his side.  A U.S. Army Veteran, George was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut to the late Ludwig & Martha (Umlandt)   Meyer.  He was a Blade Balancer for our Army helicopters at Sikorsky Aircraft in Bridgeport, Ct. and retired in 1993 after 30 years and relocated to Cliffside Park, New Jersey and was married to the love of his life, Sandra, that year.  They recently celebrated 30 years of marriage in September, 2023.  George was an avid sport enthusiast and enjoyed watching all sports.  Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include his loving sister Margaret Frawley of Windsor Locks, CT.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother William Meyer (Stratford, CT) and Henry Meyer (Valhalla, NY).  George was a wonderful husband, son, godfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.  He will be missed by many and loved by all that knew him and was always described as “a really good guy.”  He was a loving uncle to all his nieces and nephews and had a very special place in his heart for his two godchildren, William Meyer (Oxford, CT) and Yukiko Jaeger (Allendale, NJ) Plans to celebrate, remember and honor George’s life will take place on Saturday, June 1st from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm.  Arrangements entrusted with Hunt Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Avenue, Fort Lee, NJ.   In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital in George’s memory.  Donation cards and envelopes will be provided at the memorial service.  May George rest in eternal peace!
