It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we celebrate the life of Gerald Anthony Ziccardi, who passed away at the age of 88. Born on June 16, 1937, in East Orange, New Jersey.
Jerry is predeceased by his late wife Sheila (nee Riley) Ziccardi. He is survived by his former wife Susan (nee Pra) Ziccardi, the mother of his children. Loving father of Lisa & her husband John Healey and Laurie Ann & her husband Kevin Minardi, the late Dawn Ziccardi & the late Anthony Ziccardi. He was a loving grandfather to Jennifer Healey & her fiancée, Kevin Borelli, Alexandra Minardi & Jake Minardi. Brother of the late Joseph & his wife Violet Ziccardi, late brother Vito & his wife Jean Ziccardi and Late sister Rose & her husband Paul Salierno. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jerry served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. During this time he was able to visit with his family in Italy.
He worked for 30 years delivering for Drinx Plus. After Retirement, he started an auto supply company, Lyndwood Auto Parts, servicing gas stations. He also worked as a crossing guard in Little Falls for 14 years where he was loved by many children and families.
Jerry was an avid bowler who played in three leagues and enjoyed the competitive game where he scored 300 several times. His love for sports extended to his unwavering support for the New York Yankees, Giants, and Rangers. He loved spending time with family & friends.
A visitation will be held Wednesday from 4-8PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Friends are welcome to gather Thursday 9am at the funeral home prior to the 10AM Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church at 146 Copeland Ave Lyndhurst, Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
Today we celebrate the life of Gerald Anthony Ziccardi. He lived with joy, loved with his whole heart, and was always there for the people he cared about. We will forever remember his warmth, his smile & the comfort of simply having him with us.
