Grace Contessa Sudano

Grace Contessa Sudano, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Fort Lee, NJ, on June 18, 2026. Born on August 26, 1945, Grace was a beacon of compassion and kindness, touching the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Grace spent her career as an Executive Secretary at American Home Products Corp., and worked for the Cliffside Board of Education, where she was known not only for her professionalism but also for her warmth and generosity.

Married for 59 wonderful years to her beloved husband, Joseph Sudano, Grace's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her cherished children, Jacqueline (nee Sudano) & her husband Anthony Mikatarian, and August "Butchie" & his wife Gabrielle Sudano. Grace's love for her grandchildren-Kayla Anne, Nicholas, Victoria Grace, and Sophia-was her proudest achievement, and she often expressed that they were her greatest gift. She is also survived by her sister, Ellie, and is pre-deceased by her sisters, Anne and Elaine. Known for her famous Love Knot cookies, Grace created a warm, inviting home filled with laughter and love, where memories were made and cherished.

Grace will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom were touched by her grace and kindness throughout her life.

Friends & family will be received Monday 9-10:30 AM at the Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Ave, Fort Lee. Funeral mass 11 AM Madonna Church on the Hill, followed by an entombment at Madonna Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital in her honor.

Grace will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
