Helen G. Apicella, age 100, of Paramus, New Jersey, peacefully passed away on April 2, 2026. Born on February 13, 1926, in New York, New York, Helen lived a vibrant life deeply rooted in family, community, and a family business.
Helen worked many years alongside of her husband in the family Fish Market, a wholesale & retail fish business based in the Bronx. Her commitment to the industry and her customers exemplified her indomitable spirit and strong work ethic.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Helen was a cherished member of her community. She participated in the Incarnation Bowling League in Washington Heights, New York, and was renowned for her love of ballroom dancing, often taking the floor with her late husband, Joseph Frank Apicella, to share their passion for dance.
Helen is survived by her son, Andrew J. Apicella, and his wife, Gloria; her daughter, Evelyn Minton, and her husband, Paul; her son, Michael Apicella, and his wife, Margarita. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Chrissy Apicella, Carly Pleasant, and Darcy Apicella, along with her great-grandchildren, Alexia Pleasant and Andrijah Pleasant, who will carry forward her legacy of love and resilience.
The family invites all who knew and loved Helen to join them in honoring her memory and remembering the joy she brought to so many during open visitation on Saturday, April 25th, 2026 from 11:00am - 3:00pm in Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home, Fort Lee.
Helen G. Apicella will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all those whose lives she touched.
