Immacolata Agresti

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Immacolata Agresti, who departed from this world on August 23, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on July 10, 1931, in Sessa Cilento, Italy to Vittorio & Elvira (nee Marino) Mazzarella, Immacolata lived a life marked by resilience, love, and unwavering strength.

Immacolata survived the harrowing experiences of Nazi occupation during World War II, demonstrating remarkable courage and tenacity in the face of adversity. In 1953, she embraced a new beginning in America, where she would ultimately become a proud citizen on November 8, 1971.

On September 25, 1954, she married her beloved husband, the late Jerry Agresti Sr., and together they built a life filled with love and dedication. After the untimely passing of her sister Antonietta, Immacolata selflessly stepped into the role of caregiver, raising her sister's children-Edmondo Graziano, Lillia Graziano, Rosa Graziano, and Gina Agresti. Her family was her everything, and she cherished the bonds she formed with her three sons, Gennaro Agresti, Robert Agresti & his wife Evelyn Vigna, an Fran Agresti & his wife Gloria, as well as her grandchildren, Alexander, Michelle, Ashley, and Frankie Agresti. She is predeceased by her dear sublings, Alberto, Antonietta, Giuseppina, and Francesco.

Immacolata's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was a source of strength and inspiration to her family and friends, leaving behind cherished memories filled with love and laughter.

Friends & family will be recieved Saturday 9-10:30 AM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral mass 11 AM at Sacred Heart R.C. Church. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or that you plant a tree in Immacolata's honor, reflecting her love for life and nature.
