It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Arthur Dalton, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who departed this life on June 9, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on July 17, 1957, in Teaneck, New Jersey to Arthur James & Marguerite (nee Sheid) Dalton, James lived a life defined by hard work, integrity, and a commitment to his community.
James proudly worked for Local 592 of the Laborers' International Union of North America, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. He was also a Navy veteran, having served his country honorably. His spirit of service extended beyond his work, as he served as a volunteer firefighter for the Edgewater Fire Department, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of others.
James is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (nee O'Shea) Dalton, and his cherished children: Christine Pawson, James P. Dalton & his wife Gendzyl, Katherine Dalton, and Brooke Dalton. He was a proud grandfather to Sophia, Frederick, Caitlyn, Kiera, and Patti, whose lives he illuminated with love and guidance. James leaves behind his dear siblings: sister Joanne Goodermole & her husband William, brother John Dalton & his wife Joan, and brother Robert Dalton, all of whom will hold his memory close to their hearts. He is predeceased by his brother, Dennis Dalton.
Family and friends will be recieved Sunday 1-5 PM at the Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Ave, Fort Lee. Cremation private.
James Arthur Dalton will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the love he shared with all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
