James P. Pace

James P. Pace, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on September 24, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on October 26, 1935, in Lyons, NY, James spent his formative years in the tight-knit community of Montclair, where he was an avid baseball player, showcasing his competitive spirit and love for the game. In September of 1951, James was part of the Essex County C.Y.O. Championship team Representing Mt. Carmel Church. He would later graduate from Montclair High School.

In July of 1957 James joined the U.S. Army National Guard and served as an armored crewman. He completed his service with an honorable discharge.

James forged a successful career as a salesman with Washington National Insurance, primarily working in the Irvington section of Newark. His charm and dedication helped him make numerous friendships throughout his career. In addition to his work in insurance, he demonstrated remarkable craftsmanship as a ceramic mold maker, contributing to the creation of various products.

On July 1, 2012, James celebrated a significant milestone in his life-his 50th wedding anniversary-with his beloved wife, Margaret. The couple was honored with a proclamation from the mayor of Verona, a testament to the love and commitment they shared over the years.

James was not only a devoted sports enthusiast, cheering passionately for his New York Mets but also found joy when he was introduced to the New Jersey Devils, a team that brought a new dimension of happiness to his life.

Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Cocchi) Pace. Loving father of John Pace. Devoted grandfather of Joseph Redling-Pace. Dear brothers of John Pace, Sr., Peter Pace and the late Anthony Pace.

Visitation Monday 4-8PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd., Fairfield. A Chapel Service will take place Wednesday 12:30PM at Restland Memorial Park where he and Margaret will be layed to rest together.
