Janina Jasinski, née Kawalec, age 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 20, 2026. Born on March 10, 1940, in Wyzne, Poland, Janina was the beloved daughter of Roman and Stanislawa Kawalec, both deceased. Her early years in Poland shaped her strength, resilience, and deep devotion to family—qualities she carried throughout her life.
Janina was the cherished wife of the late Jozef Jasinski, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and dedication. Together they raised two sons, George Jasinski (deceased) and Richard Jasinski, who were the pride of her life.
She is survived by her son Richard, her daughter‑in‑law Joanne Jasinski, and her adored grandchildren—Jack, Josh, and Luci—who brought her endless joy and whom she loved beyond measure.
Janina is also survived by her siblings: brothers Adam Kawalec and Zdislaw Kawalec, and sisters Genowefa Kołodziej and Edwarda Skoczylas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son George, and her brother Kazimierz Kawalec.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Janina retired in 2009 from Merck, where she was respected for her commitment, reliability, and strong work ethic. Outside of work, she was known for her unwavering devotion to her family. Her home was a place of comfort, tradition, and love.
Friends & family will be received on Tuesday 5-8 PM. Funeral Wednesday 9 AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral mass 10 AM at St. Michael the Archangel R.C. Church. Entombment to follow Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum.
Janina’s legacy lives on in the values she instilled, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
