Jean Taylor, affectionately known as "Ma Jean" or "Aunt Jean," will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and unwavering love for her family. Born on March 27, 1931, in Newark, Jean spent her life nurturing those around her before passing away on October 13, 2025, at the age of 94.

Jean raised her family in Newark before moving to Cedar Grove, where she lived with her daughter & son-in-law and helped raise her six beloved grandchildren. She had a lively personality, described as "tiny but mighty," and her fiery independence made her a remarkable role model in the lives of many. Alongside her late husband, Albert Libero, she managed the Pirate's Cove at Seton Hall University for 28 years, providing gourmet dining for students and faculty. Prior to that, she worked at Sound-A-Rama record store, where her infectious energy made a lasting impression on all who encountered her.

A devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, Jean took immense joy in celebrating them,. She often would arrive early to their events to claim a front-row seat to witness their accomplishments. She was well-known among their friends, always ready with the best cup of tea.

Devoted mother of Marianne & her husband Samuel Callie. Cherished grandmother of Samuel & his wife Lily, Sonny & his wife Maureen, Steven, Anthony, Ashli & her husband Michael Antonakos and Alexis. Adored great-grandmother of Caitlin, Angelina, Sebastian, Lucas, Grace, Anakin, Maximus, Journie, Gabriel, Alexander, Asher and the late Maverick. Dear sister of Michael & his wife Emily Freda and the late Marie Bretzger, Antoinette Frungillo, Sonny Freda and Rose Miele.
