Dr. John Frederick Cerutti, 73, passed away on January 3, 2026. Born on November 27, 1952, John was a lifelong resident of North Jersey. He was raised in Palisades Park and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University and the University of Oklahoma, later earning a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College.

John practiced as a chiropractor in Leonia, New Jersey, for over thirty years. Following the conclusion of his chiropractic career, he transitioned into education, teaching both regular and special education in Morris County.

He was deeply involved in his community, serving as the President of the Board of Education in Palisades Park and as a member of the Palisades Park Board of Health.

A talented musician and DJ, John sang and played the guitar, saxophone, clarinet, and flute. In 1972 he was selected to join the American Youth Symphony Orchestra touring Europe aboard a Mediterranean cruise ship. During the next 4 decades John was a familiar performer at weddings and local venues throughout New Jersey.

John valued his family, especially time spent together on Sundays and holidays. He was also a devoted supporter of animal welfare and loved his rescue dogs.

He is survived by his older sister, Diane Perides, and her husband, John; his younger sister, Kathryn Aschoff, and her husband, Peter; his nephew, Steven Perides; and his nieces, Suzanne Perides, Christine Aschoff, and Sarah Aschoff and her partner Tarrelle Raines, along with their son and John's grand-nephew, Cameron. 

He was predeceased by his parents, John Cerutti and Catherine Cerutti (née Schlegel).

In accordance with John’s wishes, there will be no public services. Final arrangements will remain private to the family.
