John F. Tomasetti

October 16, 1921 — May 21, 2004

John F. Tomasetti a resident of Lyndhurst since 1943 died on May 21, 2004 at Hackensack University Medical Center. Born in Yatesville, PA to Genard and Amelia Tomasetti (nee Ruby), he lived in PA and in Brooklyn NY before moving to Lyndhurst. He is survived by his beloved wife Lucille (nee Masters), his daughter and son-in-law Judith and Joseph W. Regan of Toms River and a son John G. Tomasetti of Lyndhurst. He is the cherished grandfather of Joseph, Justin, and Jason Regan. Dear brother of Maryann Dotti, Gloria Garcia, and brother in law of Vincent Dotti, Alfred Garcia, Joan Masters and the late Philip Masters. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. John enlisted in the US Navy in 1942 where he served aboard the USS Noa as Signalman. After WW II he studied horticulture at Rutgers Agricultural College in New Brunswick and later worked at the Agricultural Research Center at the college. He is a member of the Tin Can Sailors, a Destroyer mens' group, and the AARP #4319 of Lyndhurst. Before retiring in 1984, he was employed with Dunham-Busch Heating and Air Conditioning Co. of Long Island City for 27 years, where he worked in the field and as a Serice Dept. Manager. The funeral will be held on Wednesday from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home 425 Ridge Rd. Lyndhurst at 9am with a funeral Mass to follow at Sacred Heart RC Church. Interment at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Arnytown. Friends will be recieved Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm.
