John S. Romano, age 81, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025. Born on October 4, 1943, in Montclair, NJ, to Anthony & Susan Romano. John spent his first year of life on Matarazzo Farms in North Caldwell before his family purchased a farm in Fairfield. He lived on the family farm for most of his life, creating cherished memories and a strong connection to the land.
John had a long and fulfilling career as an operator and engineer, where he showcased his dedication and skill in the engineering industry. He was also an avid bowler, with an impressive 39-year tenure in the sport, culminating in his induction into the bowling hall of fame.
John spent the last three years of his life in a nursing home, where he received care and companionship. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John is preceded in death by his three brothers, Canio, Constantino, and Anthony, and is survived by his beloved sisters, Mary Ann DeMaio (and her husband Richard) and Carmela Regan. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
A memorial service to honor John's life will be held at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Fairfield on May 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating his legacy and sharing their memories of him.
