John Leonard Van Kluyve, born on November 20, 1947, in Passaic, New Jersey, passed away on July 1, 2025 at the age of 77. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. His commitment to public service continued beyond his military tenure as he became a dedicated police officer with the Paterson Police Department. John was a respected member of the Police Benevolent Association #1, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and an honorary member of the American Legion.
John was preceded in death by his dear siblings: William A. Van Kluyve, Robert Van Kluyve, Edward Van Kluyve, and Marjorie Lucas.
John is deeply mourned by his beloved spouse, Lori Van Kluyve, of Woodland Park, New Jersey. He is also survived by his cherished nephew, Ron Van Kluyve and his wife Lorena, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews who will carry forward his legacy.
John's life will be honored during a burial service on Saturday, July 5th, 2025 at 10AM that will take place in East Ridgelawn Cemetery, 255 Main Avenue, Clifton, New Jersey.
Friends, family, and community members are invited to pay their respects as we celebrate the life and contributions of a man whose steadfast service and dedication will be remembered by many.
