Joseph E. Ferrara, Sr., 80, of Avon-by-the Sea, NJ, formerly of Jersey City, on Thursday, February 14, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Marie Ferrara. Loving father of Gerard Ferrara & his wife Kathie, Janet Jacobs & her husband Richard, Joseph Ferrara & his wife Lorraine, Karen Dorian & her husband Kevin, and Kim McDermott. Cherished grandfather of Stephanie, Stacey, Allyson, Richard, Jennifer, Joseph, Nicky, Lauren, Justin, Matthew & Andrew. Mr. Ferrara was a Korean war Navy veteran. He was a member of the Jersey City Rotary Club and the Glaziers Union. Funeral Monday at 9:45 AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 10:45 AM Sacred Heart R.C. Church. Entombment Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum. Friends will be received Sunday 1-3 & 6-8 PM.
