Julianna Ciurdar, 84, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026 with her daughter by her side. She was born on November 8, 1941 in Ciocaia, Romania to Iosif & Iuliana Laduczki. Julianna immigrated to the United States in March 2014 and settled in with her daughter and son-in-law, whom she adored.

Her loving spirit was evident in her frequent return trips to Romania to visit friends and relatives. She found much joy in traveling to many destinations with her family. Although she enjoyed dining out, Julianna was known for her exceptional cooking skills, particularly her famous stuffed cabbage. Despite the language barrier, her kindness and gratitude were always apparent, and she never hesitated to thank those who cared for her.

Beloved wife of the late Pavel Ciurdar. Loving mother of Liana "Lilly" & her husband Ralph DiMaio. Dear sister of the late Maria Gergely and Iosif Laduczki. She will be deeply missed by her friends in Romania, Simina & Traian Mocan and their son Alin. Also survived by Barbara & Joseph Tripoldi and their children Deborah & Aaron (Jenna & Macey). She leaved behind her faithful companion, her cat, Kookie.

Visitation Sunday 12:30-3:30 PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd., Fairfield. Cremation Private

Julianna will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the love she shared with those around her. May she rest in peace.
