Lawrence Van Dorn, affectionately known as "Larry", a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away April 22, 2026. He was born on May 23, 1958, in Passaic, NJ, bringing joy to those around him throughout his life. He will be remembered not just for his gentle nature but for the significant impact he made in his community.

A dedicated member of the United Presbyterian Church in Lyndhurst, NJ, Larry found solace and companionship within his church community. His commitment extended beyond the church as he was an active participated in the Lyndhurst REC Program and "Hands" in North Arlington, where he spent time and made lasting friendships.

Larry was also an avid New York Yankees fan, and his enthusiasm for the game was infectious. He cherished spending time with his family, particularly enjoying playing sports with his nephews, creating cherished memories that will live on in their hearts.

He is survived by his loving brother, Kenneth Van Dorn & his wife Lorraine; his brother, Donald Van Dorn & his wife Susan; nieces and nephews, Kristin & her husband Craig, Nicholas & his wife Megan, Donald James & his wife Vanessa, Andrew & his wife Gina, Brian & his wife Jennifer; and Victoria & her husband Christopher; as well as his grandnieces and grandnephews, Natalie, Madeline, Camille, Shelby, Ethan, Adalyn, Brayleeana, Mason and Maya. Each of these family members carries a piece of Larry with them and will remember his kindness, support, and unwavering love.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00-10:30 AM in Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, Lyndhurst. Funeral service, to follow, at 11 AM in United Presbyterian Church. Interment Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst NJ.

All who knew and loved Larry are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and to celebrate the profound impact he had on all of their lives. His spirit will continue to shine through the memories shared, reminding us of the power of community, compassion, and love.
