Mae Nalesnik

Mae Nalesnik, a loving, spirited, and intelligent woman, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024, at the age of 93. Born on January 22, 1931, in Passaic, NJ, Mae's early years were marked by the love and guidance of her parents, Anna and Anthony Pedevillano, and of her brothers, Angelo and Vincent.

Family was the cornerstone of Mae's world. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Theodore, and an amazing mother to her children, John, Beth and her husband Nicholas Bozzo, and Theodore and his wife Rosa. Her role as “Mommom” was one she cherished deeply, sharing her wisdom and love with her grandchildren, Olivia and her husband Brett, Andrew and his wife Kaitlin, Connor, and Joshua. Mae was predeceased by her best friend of over 80 years, Antonet “Skippy” Roland, who was more like a sister. Mae’s presence at family gatherings and holidays brought joy and laughter and her absence will leave an irreplaceable void.

One of Mae’s biggest passions was local town politics in Fairfield, NJ, standing alongside her husband during his tenure as Mayor. Music was another of Mae's loves and she could often be found tinkering on the piano, usually playing Clair de Lune. She could always be seen with a camera in her hand, as she meticulously chronicled her friends and family's life through her photo albums, which will be treasured for generations. She will also be remembered for her Christmas pizzelles and much more.

Mae's departure is a profound loss to all who knew her. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. We reflect on a life well-lived and a woman well-loved. May her spirit continue to shine brightly as a beacon of love and strength.

Family will receive friends on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road Fairfield, NJ 07004. Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home. Interment immediately following will be private.
