Manuel Socarras, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Manuel Socarras, Jr., who departed this life on June 15, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on August 31, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY to Manuel Socarras, Sr. & Luz (nee Rodriguez) Socarras, Manuel exemplified the spirit of resilience and love throughout his life. A proud and devoted family man, he made his home in North Arlington, NJ, where he dedicated himself to his profession and his beloved family.

Manuel served honorably in the Army from 1961 to 1963. His service was not just a testament to his bravery but also a reflection of his unwavering commitment to his country. He proudly carried this spirit into his career as a Cargo Manager for Iberia Airlines, where he built lasting connections and showcased his dedication to hard work and excellence.

Family was at the heart of Manuel's life. He is survived by his cherished wife, Carmen (nee Negron) Socarras, and their two daughters, Denise & her husband Steven Dunn, and Fabiola & her husband Marco Varrenti. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his grandchildren, Stephanie & her husband Bryan, Nikolas, and Ava, as well as his great-grandson, Bennett. He is also remembered fondly by his sister-in-law, Pilar Socarras, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his dear brother, Robert Socarras.

Manuel was a proud member of Lyndhurst Post 139 and the American Legion, where he engaged with fellow veterans and contributed to his community. His warmth, kindness, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Friends & family will be received Thursday 4-8 PM. Funeral service Friday 10:30 AM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Interment to follow Holy Cross Cemetery.

In this time of sorrow, our family finds comfort in knowing that Manuel's spirit will live on in our hearts, guiding us with the love and strength he embodied throughout his life. May he rest in peace.
