Maria Leopardi

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria Leopardi, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who departed this life on November 18, 2025. Maria passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Maria Pecora, on July 29, 1944, in Sant 'Arsenio, Salerno, Italy. With her family, Maria emigrated to the United States in 1970, residing first in Jersey City then in Lyndhurst, NJ where she was a cherished member of her family and community.

Maria was a dedicated homemaker, finding great joy in nurturing her family and creating a warm and loving home. She took great pride in her grandchildren and in her incredible cooking.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Luigi Leopardi; son, Dionigi Leopardi and his wife Adele; daughter, Angelica Vendola; her beloved grandchildren, Louis Leopardi, Giuliana and Joseph Vendola, her great-grandchildren, Alanna Santos and Aria Perez. Maria's kindness, selfless compassion and unwavering spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, from 2:00pm-6:00pm in Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, Lyndhurst NJ. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 24th, 2025, at 12:00pm in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Lyndhurst NJ. Entombment, to follow, Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum, North Arlington.
