Marie Massaro, a beloved matriarch and beacon of kindness, wisdom, and adventure, passed away peacefully in Saddle River, NJ, on November 24, 2023, at the age of 92. Born on March 28, 1931, in Union City, NJ, Marie's generous heart and zest for life left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Marie was the cherished wife of the late Fredrick M. Massaro, with whom she shared a beautiful and fulfilling life. Together, they raised a loving and close-knit family. She is survived by their children Fredrick A. Massaro, Anthony Massaro and his wife Terry Lee, Marguerite Mattessich and her husband John, Louis Massaro and his wife Mary, James Massaro and his wife Janine, and Thomas Massaro and his wife Ann. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Debbie. Marie was a proud and doting grandmother to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy will continue to live on through them.
Marie was a woman of many interests, each of which she pursued with an infectious enthusiasm. A lifelong lover of theatre and acting, she spent many hours on and off the stage, demonstrating her talent in numerous performances. Her love for the arts was only equaled by her passion for travel. Always ready for a new adventure, Marie visited many places around the world, each journey leaving her with cherished memories and stories to share.
She also found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. A skilled knitter, Marie created countless beautiful pieces, each stitch a testament to her patience and creativity. Her love for Christmas was legendary, the holiday season always finding her home filled with warmth, laughter, and the scent of freshly baked pumkpin pie. A true animal lover, Marie found companionship and comfort in her pets, treating each one as a cherished member of her family.
Marie Massaro leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and life lived to the fullest. She will be remembered not just for her many interests and pursuits, but for the kindness, wisdom, and adventurous spirit that defined her. As we say goodbye to Marie, we celebrate a life well-lived, and a woman well-loved.
