Mario Monaco

Mario Monaco, 83,  of Fairfield, New Jersey, passed away on February 21, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 62 years to Angie (née Pernice) Monaco. Loving father of Susana Monaco & her husband Christopher Parungao, Domenick Monaco & his wife Luciana, and Mario Monaco & his wife Jessica. Cherished grandfather of Mario, Domenico, Nicholas, Isabella, Emanuella and Angelina. Dear brother of Emilia Daniele, Ettore Monaco, and the late Giovanni Monaco.   

Also survived by many, many in-laws and extended family members and friends, who considered him a member of their family and who loved him dearly.   

Mr. Monaco was the owner of a very early computerized machine shop. Ahead of his time, he used both his intellectual creativity as well as his skills as an engineer to create aerospace machine parts, among other things. 

Mario was a lover of music with a great sense of humor. His sparkling blue eyes danced as he teased those he was most fond of. His employees at his clothing manufacturing company, at one time numbering greater than 350 people, loved and respected him. Many remained with him, in some cases, for more than 40 years and are still currently employed by his sons. He was a positive light to everybody he met, helping over 40 of his compatriots achieve the American citizenship that he so loved and valued.  Everyone knew that they could call on him when in need because he truly loved people. 

Viewing Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 1-4 &6-9 at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd, Fairfield.  Funeral Mass Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 10AM St. Thomas More RC Church, Fairfield. Entombment Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum.
