Michael Leposky

Leposky, Michael, 84, of Fairfield, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Michael was born in Johnstown, PA, July 30, 1939, and grew up in Portage, Pennsylvania where he lived until he left at the age of 21 to start his professional career as a Real Estate Appraiser with Associated Surveys Inc. After working in 10 different states, he was drafted into the United States Army in 1953. He served two years as a Military Policeman stationed in Germany until transferred to Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania from where he was discharged in July of 1955. Michael then returned to work with Associated Surveys working in Kansas and New England before moving to New Jersey in 1967 where he met the love of his life, Jo. Mike and Jo were married December 1972 and Mike took a job with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, retiring from there in 2002. Mike then took courses to become a Certified Tax Assessor, He was an assessor in Montvale, Franklin Lakes, and Fairfield, NJ until his retirement in 2021. Mike had a love for sports and was an avid Steelers and Penn State fan. Nothing meant more to Mike than his family, he and his wife were the model of love and devotion.

Beloved husband of Jo (nee Costanzo) Leposky. Loving father of Lisa Kerr & her husband Robert, Donna Johnson & her husband Michael, and Edward Pavlick & his husband Helmut Lang. Cherieshed grandfather Allissa Kerr & her fiancé Jake Mitchell, Brianna GilMartin and her wife Hayley, and Tayler Schauer & her fiancé Tim Vangeles. Dear brother of Lois Kimback & her late husband Bernard, the late Nancy & Claud Kersey, the late Betty Ann & Andy Spantack and the late Joseph Leopsky & his surviving spouse Linda.

Funeral Saturday, January 6 at 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield, New Jersey. Funeral Mass Saturday 10AM St. Thomas More Church. Entombment Gate of Heaven Mausoleum. Family and Friends may visit Friday, January 5 from 2-4 & 6-9PM.
