Nancy J. Leardo

Nancy J. Leardo, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend passed away on January 30, 2024, leaving a void in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on December 26, 1960, in Belleville, NJ to Robert and Naomi Swineford, Nancy's life was filled with love, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Nancy dedicated over 20 years of her career as a paraprofessional in the Belleville Public School District. Her commitment to education extended beyond the classroom as she touched the lives of countless students with her compassion and nurturing spirit. Nancy's genuine care for others made her not only an outstanding professional but also a valuable member of the community.

However, Nancy's love for her family was where she truly shone. She found great joy in spending time with her loved ones and being surrounded by friends. Her warm smile could light up a room and bring comfort to those around her. Nancy cherished moments shared with her family, creating beautiful memories that will forever be treasured.

In her leisure time, Nancy enjoyed occasional trips to the casino and weekend getaways with her husband. These adventures provided an opportunity for excitement and laughter amidst the busyness of life. But it was within her role as a mother that Nancy found her greatest fulfillment. Her children Joey and Tracy meant everything to her. Being their mom brought Nancy immense pride, and she poured all of herself into raising them with love and devotion. She was so proud to be their mother. 

Nancy’s impact on the lives she touched cannot be overstated. Her kindness was infectious while her love was boundless. It is these qualities that will continue to inspire and guide those who loved her as they navigate life without her physical presence.

Nancy leaves behind a legacy of love that will be carried on by her beloved husband Joseph Leardo, her cherished children Joey Leardo and his wife Katie, and Tracy Leardo and her husband CJ. She is also survived by her loving brother Bobby Swineford and his wife Michele, her brother David Swineford and his wife Donna, as well as all of her adoring nieces and nephews. She didn’t have any grandchildren, but she adored spending time with her “boo” Charlie, who also brought her so much joy. 

Although Nancy may have left this earthly realm, her spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be remembered as a kind and loving soul who brightened the lives of all she encountered. The world has lost an extraordinary woman, but heaven has undoubtedly gained a remarkable angel.

The visitation service to honor Nancy's life will take place on February 3, 2024 at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home - Lyndhurst in Lyndhurst, NJ. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

As we reflect on Nancy's life, let us celebrate the joy she brought into our lives and remember her with fondness. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that her love will continue to live on through those she loved so deeply.
