Nicholas Sierchio

April 8, 1936 — May 12, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nicholas G. Sierchio, Sr. a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left us on May 12, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on April 8, 1936, in Newark, NJ to Gerard & Jennie Sierchio, Nick spent his life dedicated to family, community, and his passions.

Nick proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1962, after which he brought his commitment to service to the Fairfield Police Department. For over 38 years, he worked as a Class II Special Officer, Court Security Officer, and OEM Coordinator, always with a joke ready to bring a smile-even in the courtroom! He valued laughter and camaraderie, connecting with everyone he met.

A true outdoorsman, Nick fell in love with taxidermy at the age of 16 and carried that passion through the years. He was a founding member of the Sportsman Conservation Association, where he played a key role in organizing benefit dinners to support local families in need. Whether he was fishing, hunting, painting, or metal detecting, he found joy in the great outdoors. A lifelong Yankees fan, Nick never missed a chance to cheer on his team.

Beloved husband of Ilene (nee Cuzzi) Sierchio. Loving father of Kathy Carlson & her husband Gary, Theresa Riverso & her husband Carlo, Nicholas Sierchio, Jr. & his wife Nancy, Anthony Sierchio & Jacqueline, JoAnne Haden, and Annie Mastrangelo & her husband Joe. Cherished grandfather of Anthony, Kristina, Tara, Nicole, Tommy, Nicholas, David, Angelica, Brianna, Jenna, and JJ. Adored great-grandfather of Mason, Tristan, Jasmin, Anastasyia, Adelina, Tia, and Ben. Dear brother of Christine Grande, Patrick Sierchio, Mary Ann Trabucco, and the late Daniel Sierchio, Geraldine Lardieri, and Philomena Colabelli. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Best friend of Bob Schaal.
