Patrick John McDonald

Patrick John McDonald, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, at the age of 84 in Hackensack, New Jersey. Born on March 26, 1941, in Jersey City, Patrick lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love.

A Navy veteran who served honorably from 1958 to 1962, Patrick was a proud member of the Lyndhurst Post 139 American Legion. His commitment to both his country and community was exemplified through his work as an HVAC mechanic at Nabisco in Fairlawn, NJ, where he contributed many years of skilled service.

Patrick cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his loving wife Diane (nee: McKenna) and their three daughters: Lori Glass and her husband Gerry, Denise Sabo and her husband John, and Stacey Picolli and her husband Joseph. Patrick took great joy in being a grandfather to his six grandchildren: Patrick, Kyle, Joey, Valerie, Matteo, and Gia, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

He was also a cherished sibling, leaving behind his brothers and sisters: Charlie, Helen Ferreri, Dorothy Campise, Jimmy, Jeffrey and the late Tommy.

Patrick's warmth, strength, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. His departure leaves a void that will be felt by many.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Patrick’s life. Visitation will be held on July 9, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst, NJ. A funeral service will take place the following day, July 10, 2025, at the same location, beginning at 10:30 AM. The graveside service will follow shortly thereafter at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington at 11:15 AM.
