Pauline Ann Minardi, affectionately known as Paula, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024, at the age of 92 surrounded by her beloved family. Born to Emilia and Anthony Del Russo on September 10, 1931, in Newark, NJ, she lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering faith.
Paula was the beloved wife of the late Carmine V. Minardi and cherished mother to the late Mari Minardi Goldberg. She is survived by her devoted sons, Salvatore Minardi (Joyce) and Carmine Minardi (Victoria), and her loving daughter, Paula (Dan). She was a proud grandmother to Carla Brady (Michael), Danielle Tsombanos (Chris), Alessandra Minardi (Andrew), Christa Minardi, and Christopher Pacicco (Chloe). Her loving family grew with the arrival of her great-granddaughters, Emilia and Melina Tsombanos.
Her siblings, including Anna Risoli (Joe), Theresa Russo (Jimmy), Carmen Del Russo (Mary), Michael Del Russo (Theresa), Angelo Del Russo (Evelyn), Alfonso Del Russo (Josephine), and Modestino Del Russo (Madeline), along with their families, brought Paula great joy and endless fun. Paula truly loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Paula had an amazing professional life working in the Garment Center in New York, running a dress shop in Belleville, and owning and managing hair salons with her husband and sons. She gained lifelong friendships through her years working in Belleville, Nutley, and Madison.
Paula loved spending time with her family and friends – her impact on those around her was beautiful as she had an unforgettable presence and would sneak in quick jokes if you were sitting next to her. She was an active member of her parish, living out her faith with grace and generosity. Traveling with her husband, Carmine, family and friends, Paula felt lucky to have been able to see the world, but she was most happy on Island Time. A book was never far from her side, as she was an avid reader and always asked what someone was reading next. Paula's kitchen was the heart of many family occasions.
Those who knew Paula knew her love, and that she was proud of her life and her family. She taught her family to do right by others and to stand up for yourself and your loved ones. She was faith-filled, dedicated to her rosary with her spiritual strength guiding her through life's challenges and triumphs.
Paula's legacy is one of love and laughter, a beacon of faith and family values. She lived her life fully, with a spirit of generosity and kindness that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
As we bid farewell to Paula, we remember a life beautifully lived and a soul that touched so many. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were moved by her remarkable spirit.
