Rachel Rita King

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rachel King, age 89, who gently departed this life on May 16, 2026. Born on February 19, 1937, to Philip & Jenny Castagna in the Marion Section of Jersey City, Rachel was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Rachel was raised in Jersey City, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with love and dedication to her family. She later moved to North Arlington, where she spent many cherished years before relocating to Montville. Her spirit and resilience were evident throughout her remarkable journey.

Professionally, Rachel thrived in sales, working for Marshall Electronics in Fairfield and for Comcast in North Arlington, where she excelled in door-to-door sales. Her warm demeanor and genuine approach allowed her to connect with many, embodying the essence of kindness and compassion.

Rachel was predeceased by the love of her life, John King. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Jenine Serritella and her husband Leonard; her cherished grandchildren, Jade and John Serritella; and her loving brothers, Carmine and Joseph Castagna. Her family will forever remember her unwavering support, her infectious laughter, and the unconditional love she showered upon them.

The memorial visitation for Rachel will be held at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home on Tuesday May 19, 2026, from 9AM-1030AM, where family and friends will gather to pay their respects and celebrate her life. Following this, a Memorial Mass will take place at Queen of Peace R.C. Church, at 11:00 AM, allowing us to honor Rachel's legacy and the profound impact she has had on all of us.
