Raymond Gillies

Raymond William Gillies Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on September 12, 2025. Born on July 23, 1941, in Hackensack, NJ to Raymond and Emma Gillies. After his mom passed at a young age, Ray was raised by his step-mother, Mary. He led a life dedicated to his family and his career as an accountant in the finance industry.

Raymond will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family.

Beloved husband of Zinovia (nee Hoynack) Gillies. Loving father of Kimberly Gillies-Bush
& her husband Douglas, Daniel Gillies & his wife Rhanda Moussa and Nicole Cichanowitz & her husband Gene. He was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren: Emily "Mimi", Justin, Grace, Elizabeth "Lulu", and Angelina "Little Bird". Dear brother of the late Kenneth & Sheila Gillies. Uncle Raymond's love extended to his nieces, Kristin Gillies, Tara Ely & her husband TJ and their children Everly, Addison, Thomas and Charlotte who he cherished dearly.

A passionate outdoorsman, Raymond took great joy in maintaining his yard and tending to his garden, creating a warm and welcoming space for family and friends to gather. He was his grandchildren's biggest supporter, never missing an event in their lives, from sporting events to school plays. His generosity knew no bounds, as there was nothing he would hesitate to do for those he loved. An avid NY Giants fan, Raymond remained loyal to his team, regardless of their season's ups and downs.

Visitation Tuesday from 4-8pm at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd, Fairfield. Funeral Service Wednesday 10:30am at the funeral followed by a burial at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa where he will find eternal peace. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Foundation, a charity dear to his "Little Bird's" heart.
